Draft for legal review. Last updated 25 October 2026.
Terms of service
These terms are the agreement between you and Goodman Tech, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (“Stub”, “we”) for using the Stub app and website. By creating an account you agree to them, to our privacy policy and to the community guidelines.

What Stub is
Stub helps adults arrange a first date around a real plan. A host posts a plan (coffee, a meal or drinks at a public venue, at a set time, with what he’ll cover). A guest sends interest in plans she’d enjoy, and the host picks one person. In this first version, men host and women explore.
Stub is a platform that connects members with each other and with venues. We don’t run the venues, and we can’t guarantee how any member behaves. Stub is not a paid-companionship service: guests are never paid, in any form.
Who can use Stub
- You must be 18 or over. For drinks plans, you must also meet the legal drinking age of the state the venue is in (21 in Karnataka).
- You need a phone number that can receive a one-time code. One account per person and per number.
- You must pass our selfie check before posting a plan, sending interest or seeing full profiles.
- You can’t use Stub if we’ve banned you before.
- Your profile must be truthful and show you: real photos, your real first name and age.
Plans, interests and picking
- Plans are at public venues only, start between 48 hours and 14 days after posting, and can’t be moved to another place. A different place means cancelling and posting again.
- Once anyone has sent interest, the time, venue and what’s covered can’t be changed.
- A host can have up to 2 plans open at a time. A guest can have up to 3 interests waiting, and none that overlap in time.
- The host picks one guest at least 36 hours before the start, and must pay or place the hold within 30 minutes. If he doesn’t, the pick lapses.
- A plan is confirmed only when the host’s payment succeeds. Sending interest is a guest’s commitment to go if picked.
Payments for the date
Only the host pays for the date. The guest never pays for it and never receives money.
- Partner venues (Fully hosted): the host pays the package price when he picks. Payments are processed by Razorpay, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator, and held until both people check in; then the venue is paid its share.
- Open venues (Host pays at venue): the host places a refundable commitment hold of ₹300 for coffee or ₹500 for a meal or drinks, and pays the bill at the venue. The hold is refunded within 24 hours once both check in.
- What happens to money when someone cancels or doesn’t show up is set out in cancellations and refunds, which is part of these terms.
Subscriptions and date passes
- Guests get 3 free date passes that never expire. After that, Stub Pass costs ₹249 a month and includes 4 date passes a month. Unused subscription passes expire at the end of each month.
- Sending interest reserves a pass. It’s spent when you’re picked, and returned if you aren’t picked, withdraw in time, or the plan is cancelled or expires.
- Hosts can post their first plan free. After that, Host Plus costs ₹799 a month or ₹1,999 for 3 months.
- Subscriptions are bought and billed through Google Play and renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period; confirmed plans continue. Refunds for subscriptions follow Google Play’s refund policies.
- Date passes, bonus passes and perks have no cash value and can’t be withdrawn, sold or transferred.
Check-in and reliability
Both people check in at the venue between 15 minutes before and 30 minutes after the start: by scanning the venue’s code at partner venues, or by tapping “I’m here” within 150 m at open venues. If you don’t check in by the end of the window, you’re marked as a no-show unless the other person confirms you met.
Your profile shows how often you showed up, and for hosts, how often everything was covered as promised. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations lead to warnings, suspensions or a ban, as described in the community guidelines.
Your conduct and content
You’re responsible for what you post and how you behave, on Stub and at the date. You must follow the community guidelines and Indian law. Child sexual abuse and exploitation are strictly prohibited and reported to the authorities.
You keep ownership of your photos and words. You give us a licence to host, display and process them to run Stub, which ends when you delete them or your account, except where we must keep them (for example as evidence in a report).
Moderation and suspension
As an intermediary under the IT Rules, 2021, we moderate content and act on complaints. We may remove content, warn, suspend or ban accounts that break these terms or the guidelines. A safety report suspends the reported account while we review it. Where an account is suspended or banned, its upcoming plans are cancelled and refunded under the usual rules. You can ask us to review a decision by writing to support@getstub.in.
Meeting people safely
We verify that members are real and over 18, but we don’t run criminal background checks and can’t guarantee anyone’s conduct. Meet only at the venue on the plan, make your own way there, use Share plan and SOS, and report anything that worries you. In an emergency, call 112.
Liability
Stub is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for the conduct of members or venues, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that can’t be excluded.
Ending your account
You can pause or delete your account at any time. See delete your account for what happens to upcoming plans and your data.
Changes, law and complaints
We’ll tell you in the app before material changes to these terms take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
For complaints, contact our grievance officer. For anything else, write to support@getstub.in.
